Description
Gaultheria Procumbens
Wintergreen is a small shrub less than 15 cm in the Ericaceae family and the Gaultheria genus which grows in the forests of North America, Canada and China.
Its white to pale pink summer flowers located at the base of the leaves are generally solitary in the shape of small bells. They give scarlet red berries from October to March.
Wintergreen essential oil is extracted from its leaves.
